Welcome Marathoners

Hello to everyone that stops by today as part of Dr. Johns Marathon....I am delighted to have you. I hope that everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend. My town has this huge Catfish Festival from Sat.-Mon. The huge draw is the Catfish dinners but me being a non-fish eater did not benefit from this festival. They also had 2 free concerts, they were country singers, Billy Currington and Craig Morgan for those of you that know them. I watched the Billy Currington concert and he wasn't half bad. It was stinking hot here so I sweat my butt off but it made me not feel as bad for eating that BBQ sandwich!

My mother also came to town this weekend, we went to the beach on Saturday. The water was awesome, so warm but yet refreshing. Then on Saturday afternoon when we got home my kids decided to dump all of the sand and little shells from their bathing suits into the toilet. They flushed and added more trying to flush again while it was filling up. My oldest, who is 7 decided he was going to find out why the toilet would not flush again, not knowing it wouldn't flush until full again. Well he removed the lid from the tank and accidentaly dropped the lid into the tank, cracking the tank. I had a slow leak and a minor flood within hours. So at 8:45 I take off to Lowes to figure out a solution. Arrived at Lowe's at 9:05...they closed at 9. I then went to Wal-Mart and bought plumbers Goop to fill the crack. A temp fix until the hubby comes back from sea in Oct. Well it did not work, so on Sunday morning off to Lowes I go again, I now know they make a Toilet to Go kit, with everything you need to install your new toilet. So this weekend I sucessfully removed and installed my first toilet. It was wonderful, I felt so accomplished afterwards. I have done a many things but this was the biggest in home repair that I have done solo. And for it to work on the first try I was stoked. I am going to rub it in the hubbys face when he gets home!!!! So now I can lend a hand to my fellow Navy wives if they have a broken toilet...thanks to my son!!
