TV MOMS
My friend and I were talking last night and she asked me,
"What TV mom, best represents your mother?"
So I sit a couple of minutes and think, what TV mom? I am not sure I think that my mom was probably featured in one of those Lifetime Movies!!!!
So I have been dwelling on this for the past 18+ hours.......what TV mom is most like my mom?
Ahhhh I got it, do any of you remember the show Roseanne, well that is not her, that is a good example of my Aunt Carol, my mom's sister. No, My mom is more like Jackie, Roseanne's sister, but just not as neurotic. Maybe more or less is you took Roseanne and Jackie mixed them into one.....yes that is it, that is my mother!!!
Then I got to thinking, what TV mom do I see myself as???? Anyone out there seen the show Yes, Dear!! Well you know the free spirited sister Christine, that is most like me and her husband Jimmy is most like my husband, very laid back and unconventional.
So readers, what TV mom/dad did you grow up with????
And what TV mom/dad do you closely relate too????
Just a little fun for today we could all use a little fun every once in a while!!!!

well Kristi.....I see my Mom kinda as June Cleaver....I see myself more as Roseanne...lol. Some of my friends say if Roseanne can have her own tv show I should be able to have one too! lol.
I see my Father as Ward Cleaver...as for my X ...Ive never seen any of them who reminds me of him!!!! LoL.
Darn...
There just aren't any that resemble my family at all...
I have pondered this a great deal...
and wished I could have had Mrs. Partridge, or Tom from the Courtship of Eddie's Father.
Instead,I got a mom that could handle making an impromtu dinner for when my dad invited the guys over after working on a hard case,she would have a kid on her hip that would have an ear infection , help the rest of us with our homework, she would be the one most of my friends came to if they were hurt as most of them were latchkey kids, and then when it was the end of the day she would type for a lawyer through a dictaphone through the night...
One strong babe...
And my dad was the guy everyone went to if there was a police problem... they would never call the copshop they would just come to our house... he is very shy... but would know he had to help...
It was a house of constant activity. And most of my friends called it home...
But Mrs. Partridge she was not...
And my dad certainly was not that sexy Bill Bixby...
Guess I am glad for what I didn't get...
Before you even said it, I was already thinking my mom was Jackie and Roaseanne in one!
And I totally see you and Ash as Christine and Jimmy! I love them! LOL!
It is hard to decide who Durk and I are. Any ideas?
LMAO! I just remembered, when my mom and I were sent to counseling, she told the counsler I expected her to be like a Nick at Nite mom. Back then it was old black and white shows. But now Roseanne is Nick at Nite! LMAO!
My mom was like a mix of June CLeaver and Mrs. Huxtible from Cosby. sp?? She's funny and sweet and a great cook that stayed home with us. She was great.
Me? Maybe the mom from Everybody loves Raymond? I can't stand my mother in law and I nag my hubby too much
ooooh this is fun but I really have to think....I always wanted to be Samanttha from Betwitched, I can relate to Lois from 'Malcom in the Middle' but I think I am like the mom from 'The Munsters" who tried to keep the family together and functioning because no one can seem to function without her!!! She was very accepting and always made sure Herman got what he needed., feed Spot the dragon, put up with Grandpa and Eddie's mischief and loved and Marilyn.
Hoh and I are alot like the couple from Yes Dear, as well but at least HOH has a job!
My mom is probably best represented by Timmy's mpm in 'Lassie'.
This is fun ,thinking of all the different kinds of mom. I can't think of a TV mom for my mom. Maybe Dr Huxtible. As a mother I would like to think I was like [ this is bad because I forgot the name of the show] but she was a pastors wife with many children. I only had three.
My mom was like Beaver Cleavers mom.
Since I'm a dad I would have to find a dad to relate to and I can't.
This is a good question. I don't know which mom is most like my mom, but I do know which tv dad was my favorite. I loved Mr. Keaton on Family Ties. He was the perfect blend of serious and self deprecating. :)
